Jordan's Photo Shoot

Here are a few pictures taken by Jordan's Aunt Bridgett and her fancy new camera! I think they turned out cute!

The Lifferth Family Christmas Party

This will have to be a short post. My blog hasn't been updated in a while, and I do happen to have a few recent pictures I could post from the Lifferth family Christmas party.

The party was on Dec. 1st, up in Springville, Utah. It was great fun. My personal favorite part of the evening was seeing the REAL Santa Claus. I am serious, this guy was really good. I think he took at least 5 minutes, if not more, with each child. He was jolly, and fun, and the kids LOVED him. He was just exactly what I picture Santa to be.

I couldn't get any real good pictures because of the movement, but here's what I got!

They also put on a Christmas program involving the women in the story of Christ's birth, and Gabe provided background music for the program. I tried to get a little bit of video for that, but it didn't work. But he did a great job!

Jordan's New Friend

You may remember that when Jordan was about 6 or 7 months old, we got a little kitty. But then Jordan ended up getting a cold, and at the time I thought it was allergies. Well after a trip to the doctor we were informed that allergies don't present themselves that way in infants, so he was most likely not allergic. The problem was, we had already sold the kitty by the time we realized this.

Well... we decided to give it another go, and we bought Jordan a new little playmate. And he LOVES his little kitty. I think he's even trying to say "tt ttttee". He and the kitty get along great.... most of the time. I mean sure, he knocks the kitty around a bit, but it's not every day Jordan finds someone small enough that he can be the bully! It is so cute watching him play with his kitty, he's never giggled so much! He's even developed a new tone of his voice when he talks to the kitty, it's adorable!

It's actually a pretty good kitty too. Jordan pulls it by the tail, and it just plays with his hand while he does it. It has a very good temperament. It even chases Jordan sometimes too. He also came fully potty trained, which is a great bonus! We haven't named him yet, so we are open to suggestions! Let us know what you think!

It's SNOWING!!!

Ok world, just try and stop me from busting out the Christmas music!

Happy Halloween!!

Jordan has a personality all his own. One of his most distinct traits, and one he is quite well known for is his growl. So we decided to play on this and had Jordan be a lion for Halloween this year. I found an adorable costume for only 8 dollars on KSL. All I needed to do was draw whiskers and a lion nose (not as easy as it sounds...) Jordan hated getting his face drawn on. It took several attempts, and in the end, and after copious tears (poor little lion!), we had to take what we could get. This is how it turned out.

We went to our ward's Trunk-Or-Treat party and enjoyed showing off our cute little baby. We arrived a little late and didn't get a whole lot of 'loot', but I think this year it was for the best.

At any rate, Jordan enjoyed sitting in the trunk of our car, holding onto the edge and growling at the trunk or treaters.

After the ward party Gabe and I took Jordan trick or treating to his Grandma and Grandpa Dorsey's house, where he got more candy and we also got to visit with Michelle and Lua and their family. Jordan worked up quite a sweat in his costume so we took it off of him and let him just play.

The next day we took Jordan to CornBelly's corn maze. We had fun wandering around the maze, and even managed to find David Archileta's ear and hair. After that we wandered around the other various activities they had there. We went on a Hay ride, a cow train ride, and played in a room filled with dried corn!

Jordan was mostly just afraid of the corn room though. But can you blame him? It swallowed mommy and daddy!

I've caught the bug...

When we first moved into our house here in Payson, there was snow covering our entire yard, and all of our trees were leaf bare. We had no idea what kind of trees they were. So when spring came around, one of our trees began to get blossoms. Nothing really came of the blossoms, except very small pears that never got big enough to count.

Naturally, since our tree had not produced anything the year before, I had no reason to believe that it would this year either. Boy was I wrong.

Our tree produced more pears than I knew what to do with this year. Seriously, my visiting teached described our tree as one straight from a Doctor Seus book. The branches were breaking and curving everywhere. It was a good comparison. And one day, I realized that this year, we might just get some real fruit. And, with the economy being in the state that it is, I considered it a blessing from our heavenly father, and I knew I'd better not let it go to waste.

So Gabe and I harvested all the fruit we could in a day, and then Gabe set to work pruning our poor picked on tree. We then waited for weeks making sure to keep the temperature in our house below 73 degrees.

The pears have just about all ripened, and I have been scrambling to get them canned. Friday was my very first time canning anything, and when we had finished jarring 13 quarts, and 7 pints of pears, I felt very satisfied, and proud of the work I had done. (Of course I didn't do it alone. My cousin and my mom helped me out quite a bit!) I am going to be canning more tomorrow, and I am getting so excited at the prospect. I have seriously started becoming obsessed. Now I am taking people up on their offers of fruit from other trees, and I am thinking I might can some of those as well. Plus, I have decided to make and freeze a bunch of pies, and maybe make some pear jam.

I have become a fruit preservation freak!

Tagged: 7 Weird or random things about me...

Lucky me, I am one of those 'special' people to be tagged on my sister's blog. So now you all get to know a few strange things about me.

1. It drives me crazy when people put their bottom teeth in front of their top teeth. Even the thought of it is just... icky!

2. When I was little, I used to suck my thumb and pull out my hair. Therefore, I always had thinner hair than my sisters. Funny thing is though, my husband used to do the same thing!

3. I also can't stand to rub my finger along my fingernail sideways. You know what I mean? Because of the nail ridges... It is like scratching a chalkboard for me.

4. I have recurring nightmares about spiders, and lions chasing me (never at the same time though.).

5. If something in a store looks soft, I cannot pass it up. I have to feel it.

6. I almost didn't hook up with my husband because he didn't open my car door, and he didn't want to hook up with me because he thought I was obsessed with American Idol... and therefore a crowd follower. Long story short, he always opens my doors for me (and no, I didn't have to train him), and I am not obsessed with American Idol. I just watch it sometimes (and he does too!). Assumptions are not always true.

7. Fall is my favorite season. The air is crisp, and filled with anticipation of the fun holidays to come. The leaves are beautiful. I love fall treats, ie: pumpkin cookies, pumpkin pie, zucchini bread, etc etc etc... I love wearing sweaters and warm yummy things.

Anyway, that is seven random things about me. And now it is my turn to tag... and I choose: Annie, Crystal, Monaca (Barnabi), Meloschmuck, Whitney, Sarah, and Alida.

Happy Birthday to Gabe!!

Monday (September 29th) was my wonderful husband's birthday. To celebrate, we had a family bike ride that began at mouth of Provo Canyon, and on to Bridal Veil Falls. The canyon was beautiful! I love the fall. I wish my birthday was in the fall instead of the summer. I offered to trade birthdays with Gabe, because he loves the summer... but he wouldn't hear of it. Unfortunately, it just doesn't work that way. ;)

Gabe was a gentlemen (even on his birthday) and let me ride the electric bike. After riding it I have to say, I may never be able to go back to regular bike riding. Whenever I got tired, I just pulled on the throttle and coasted along. To quote Gabe, "It's the only way to ride a bike." It's funny because I used to tease him that an electric bike was pointless because you got no excersize. But now I see the beauty in it.

Jordan got to ride behind us in a little bike trailor. He seemed bored the entire time on the ride, until we got there and had lunch. Jordan got to try Doritos, and I am thinking they are now his favorite thing in the world to eat. I didn't know anyone could get so messy eating Doritos. He had bright orange stuff all over his little hands, and dribbling down his chin. So cute. He just kept cramming them into his mouth, and the problem was that he forgot to swallow. We finally realized this and took the chips away from him so he could swallow. He still managed somehow to sneak a few more in though. :)

After the bike ride, we met up with the family at Fuddruckers (sp?) . It is a family favorite among the Lifferth men. It's pretty good, if you like big hamburgers. After dinner we had Pineapple upside down cake at our place to end the day.

All in all it was a really fun day. I got Gabe a portable DVD player that looks like a discman. Also I got him a tiny keychain camera. We took pictures of our day on that camera, but for some reason they didn't work. Very sad. So, that is why there are no pictures.

Anyway, thanks to everyone who came or called, to help us celebrate! You're a great family!

This should have been his birthday picture!

It has finally happened! My little boy is feeding himself! It took going to his 12 month appointment with the doctor and asking him how to get him to do it. The doctor said simply, don't put anything in his mouth. He knows what to do. I had been trying taking his hand and helping him put it in his mouth, but I was always still helping him. So on saturday Gabe and I put Jordan through some intensive training. We put him in his highchair with food and let him have at it. He of course just cried and hit the food off of the tray and onto the floor. But we just put more on the tray and if he didn't eat it after a while, we took him out of his highchair to play for a while. It was a process but I am happy to say it finally worked!
My baby has taken a big step in becoming self sufficient. It is so adorable, I don't think I've ever thought it was so cute to see a kid get his little face dirty!

Jordan's 1st birthday party!

On September 6th (last saturday) our little boy turned one year old. We had a family party at our house (which included Gabe's family and my family). Our little house was a bit crowded, but it was really nice to have everyone over.

I made orange chocolate chip zucchini bread (a big hit I was told), and birthday cake with orange flavored frosting. I made Jordan his own personal birthday cake, but unfortunately he didn't want anything to do with it.

Ah well. At least he enjoyed his presents, when the other kids gave him a chance to play with them. ;) All in all it was a good birthday. It's been a good first year as well. Gabe and I are so happy to have this little boy in our life. He brings us so much joy and hapiness. We love being the parents of such an adorable little son.

(Also, there is another new post underneath this one. I am doing a little bulk posting today!)

PS- Here's the link for the zucchini bread recipe. Some people were asking for it. I did pumpkin pie spice instead of just cinnimin and nutmeg. Plus I added extra cinnimin. (I always add extra spice)
http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Chocolate-Chip-Orange-Zucchini-Bread/Detail.aspx

Only my husband would manage to get my son riding his own four wheeler before he can even walk!!

Exactly a week before Jordan's birthday we happened to be at a garage sale and found a power wheels four wheeler just Jordan's size for 5 dollars! The best part is that it actually still works.

It took a bit of Gabe's fixerupper skills, and Jordan's keen intellect.

But in no time flat they had it up and running.

It has a button on the handle bar that if you push it, it goes, but if you let go then it just stops. So it doesn't require breaks or anything. Surprisingly enough, Jordan managed to drive it all by himself across the kitchen floor the first day we got it. He can't steer, but he can certainly push a button and keep his balance. Anyway, he loves it. He loves climbing on and off of it, he loves pushing it (a good tool for teaching him to walk), he loves circling it and studying it's every angle (a trait he learned from his dad I am sure), and he loves rolling the wheels and also, on occasion driving it. ;)

It has WHAT?

A while back, while Gabe and I were on vacation in North Carolina I bought Jordan some teething tablets. I had heard good things about them from a few other mothers, so I thought I'd give them a try. Anyway, I have been giving them to him on and off since May.

So the other day I was talking to my cousin who has a daughter who is teething. I pulled out my bottle of teething tablets and told her how much Jordan liked them and such. She asked me what was in them and I looked at the ingredients... sadly I had not done this yet. So I'm reading down the list and my eyes stop at one word I would never have guessed in my life!

Coffee!!!

I could not believe my eyes! I was so embarrassed too, to be recommending it when I had no idea what was in it! It's just crazy because these tablets are stark white, I never would have guessed. Anyway, just getting that info out there!

Just another update

Hey everyone! So just letting you all know that I am doing TONS better now! I have been feeling pretty good for a while. Gabe and I have been going walking every night down at the Payson Highschool track... well I walk and push Jordan and Gabe runs around a few times then walks with me. :) Anyway I have actually been able to jog a bit and that is so exciting! I know that sounds pathetic, but I have not been able to run since maybe before I was pregnant with Jordan. It felt really good. My knees are still a bit weak, but I think the more I excercise them the better and stronger they will be. I'm so grateful to have a husband who has been so supportive throughout all this. I wouldn't be able to keep up excercising if he wasn't doing it with me either. It makes it so much more fun because we get to spend family time together while doing it.

Other news... Jordan is going to be one year old in a few weeks! I can't believe it's been that long... but at the same time, it seems about right. Though he still looks mostly like a baby, he is starting to take on more little boy features. He is a real cutie though. I have been working with him, trying to get him (and me) weened from bottles. I will be sad to let them go too. It's a convenient way to feed! And Jordan is pretty much refusing the sippy. I don't know if I'll have him weened by the time he's one. He also refuses to feed himself. I have been trying to teach him to eat his little veggie puff things for a while. But the little stink tries to eat it directly from my hand, rather than put take it and put it in his mouth. It's kind of cute, I mean, I appreciate his engenuity... but I know I shouldn't encourage it. But he'll just take it in his little hand, play with it for a minute and then let it drop to the floor. I keep putting it in his hand and bringing his hand to his mouth, but he is refusing to catch on. He has actually been able to do it a few times. He would take it in his hand, bring it to his mouth and then he wouldn't know how to deposit it into his mouth. So now he won't even try that. I am hoping this is just something he will eventually get down.

As for walking, he will walk along furniture, but that is the extent of it. If I take his hands and try to help him walk with me, he just drops to the floor and doesn't even show any interest in walking. It's funny because before he was crawling he always like to have me stand him up on my knees or on the floor, but now he just won't straighten his legs. He would rather crawl, this is something he has perfected.

I shouldn't complain though, the kid is adorable. He has this real guttoral growl that he uses to express his happiness. It is surprising to people who don't know him. It's funny to hear such a noise come out of a sweet little blue eyed boy. He even growl-talks. He sounds like a little gremlin. People think it's hilarious. He has also charmed many of our ward members with his infectuous smile. He is not very shy of strangers, he loves to smile and growl at people. He also loves to flirt with the ladies. We may have trouble on our hands in about 15 years...

So yeah, that's Jordan. But our family is doing great. I've been able to get a lot done around the house, I have been working on organizing and getting rid of clutter. It feels so nice to have it done, even though it's a pain to do it. I was able to buy a bunch of melamine shelf boards on KSL for 10 dollars, so I will be making a few more shelves in the few closets we do have. I will be excited to get that done, though it's taking longer than I thought it would. We have to cut them and I am terrified of using a saw, so I have to wait till Gabe has time to do it. But the poor guy never has a whole lot of time on his hands, and when he does, I just want him to be able to have a bit of fun. Ah well... such is life. :) We're hoping to do it this monday as a family home evening.

So that's a bit of an update, hope you're all having a good end of summer!

This will be just a quick update. I am so bad at blogging! I am sorry. I will try and get some pictures posted next time. Anyway, just wanted to let you all know that I am doing a lot better than last time. After a very long month and a half, I am finally starting to feel the numbness going away. It is not completely gone yet, but I am making some definite improvements. Thanks so much for your thoughts and prayers, it means a lot to me!

Right now I am trying to work on getting my house back into order. This has been kind of a crazy time. We have gone on a lot of trips, and plus I've been slightly disabled, so the house could definitely use some work. I am actually excited to tackle it though. I am just excited to be able to! I want to get Jordan's nursery organized, and I have ideas floating around in my head for decorating it. Once it's done I'll probably post pictures.

Sort of an embarrassing story...
The night before last, Gabe and I had kind of a bad night. Jordan has been sick, and that night he woke up about every two hours, and when he was asleep it was restless. I took him to the doctor yesterday and found out he has an ear infection, and a sore throat. So, all yesterday I just felt tired and sleep deprived. Gabe and I both have that cold that is going around so we just weren't feeling very well. I didn't get a chance to do a whole lot of cleaning, it was all I could do to just cook dinner! Anyway, who should show up that night around 7 o'clock but the entire bishopric, all dressed in nice suits! I about died. Our house was a mess. They said they understood... but it is still embarrassing. Why is it that no one ever shows up when my house is looking emaculate? So yeah. I am eager to get my house organized.

Wish me luck! TTFN!

I had been looking forward to this summer ever since last summer when all the activities were spoiled by being too big and pregnant to fully enjoy them. I thought I’d have all the energy in the world and we would go do all kinds of things that I wasn’t able to do while I was pregnant. But at the moment, to be honest I still almost feel like I am pregnant! Allow me to explain before any of you jump to conclusions. I am not... I repeat, I am NOT pregnant. But in this past month I have been having medical issues that are almost just as confining. See, I have been diagnosed with MS for around 6 years now. The most trouble I ever really had so far with it is getting numb legs occasionally, plus random pains that are associated with the disease. But ever since I was first diagnosed I always had this worry in the back of my mind that I would end up in a wheel chair. Well anyway, I have never come so close as I have now.

My legs have been numb for over a month now and in the past couple of days my right leg has gotten very unstable, making it difficult to walk. I have been numb for this long before and made a full recovery, so I wasn’t too concerned until it began to impair my ability to walk normal. My husband and my father gave me a blessing at the onset of the numbness that I would be able to heal, and I recently got another blessing of comfort that also said I would be able to heal.

I want to be positive and have amazing faith that everything will be ok, but it’s hard. If anything, I have certainly learned to appreciate the everyday things like being able to walk, and go to the store and drive all by myself. You never really understand how good these things are until it’s taken away.

Anyway, the reason I am even posting about this is because it has been a bit of a struggle. I could use a few more prayers if you are able. I am sure I will be able to make a full recovery, I just need help keeping the faith!
Love you all!

Well I finally got around to posting the last bit of our trip. We had the opportunity to stay at a very nice beach house on Emerald Island. It had three floors, a pool and a hot tub, a pool table, a home theater and an elevator! Gabe and I lucked out and got the master bedroom! It had its own jetted tub and a double shower. Very nice. Plus the view was AMAZING! We were right on the beach. It was so beautiful. It was a good way to end our trip. Much more relaxing than the other things we did while out east.

Anyway, as a more recent update...

Jordan has been crawling for a few weeks now. And just today he pulled himself up to a standing position against the couch! Once he started crawling he seems to have just taken off. He is such a different baby now. I'm so proud of him and all he's learning!

Over the weekend we went camping with my family. We were able to spend one very sleepless night. Jordan was coming down with a cold and we didn't realize how bad it was until we tried to get him to sleep that night. I had to sit up with him for quite a while. Needless to say, we will never try camping again with a sick baby!

Hope everyone had a great father's day!

Our trip to Washinton DC!

Washington DC!

It was so exciting to be in the nation's capital. There is such a hype associated with going to DC and believe me, it does not dissappoint! The buildings there are so beautiful, they paid attention to every detail! The architecture on the old buildings was so intricate and impressive to look at.

It was humbling to see the actual documents of the Constitution, the Bill of Rights and of course, the Declaration of Independence. It is a good reminder of the foresight and wisdom of our fore fathers. I am so grateful that they put those important documents in such a place of honor, so that they have been preserved so that anyone can come and see them.

The only complaint I had was that we had to walk everywhere, so I got pretty darn tired. I really wish we could have seen more. If we ever get the chance to go again, I think we will spend at least 2 or 3 days there.

Thursday, May 8, 2008

Sorry about the long gap between posts, we've just been keeping ourselves busy! We just got back from our trip to North Carolina, where we were visiting my sister and her husband and two boys. North Carolina is a beautiful state. One of the first thing we noticed was the trees. There are trees EVERYWHERE! We were in the middle of the city and had no idea because there were so many trees blocking the buildings and such. It felt like we were in a forest everywhere we went. To give you an idea of what I mean, here is a picture of the view from their backyard.

We did a bit of traveling while we were there too. The first place we went to was the Mount Vernon Plantation. It was George Washington's farm, and mansion house. George Washington is my absolute favorite president so it was amazing to be there.
I don't want to bore all of you with too many pictures at once, so I have decided to break up our vacation into 3 separate posts.

We hope everyone had a great easter, because we sure did! Gabe, Jordan and I drove down to Bryce Canyon to stay at Ruby's Inn on Friday, and we stayed until sunday. Gabe's family does this retreat every year. The hotel was very nice, it had jetted bathtubs, a swimming pool and hot tub. There was an easter egg hunt, and pot luck dinner and lots of visiting with family. Gabe and I also got the chance to try out his Uncle's scooter, and it was a blast! I actually dared to drive it myself, and I got up to a whopping 20 miles an hour! Oh yeah!

Jordan got to have his very own full size bed.

And of course, Jordan got to experience his first visit from the Easter Bunny! He got some great stuff!
We drove home on sunday after attending sacrament meeting in Henrieville and then visited with my family and had easter dinner with them. It was a great weekend, and we look forward to doing it again next year. And we hope to be able to stay a little longer next time too!

Kitty Fiasco- Part deux

Ok, so I know we really left you hanging with that last post. I mean, how does one choose between their child, and their new pet? Which one causes the least amount of trouble? Which one's more expensive? Which one is actually already potty trained?

These are all questions we took into consideration as we made this life altering decision. But, in the end we decided that... of COURSE we'd pick Jordan! (Sorry Zach, though we do appreciate the offer.) I carried that little boy inside me for nearly 10 months! Besides that, he's the cutest baby I've ever seen!

So with that decision made, here is how the rest went down. The next day was pretty much a deciding day. I went to my parents house and introduced them to our new kitty. Little George charmed them all. What a good little kitty, they all decided. I asked my mom what she thought, if Jordan was allergic or not, and she said it was very likely. So when Gabe and I drove home that night we made the decision that the kitty would have to go.

Gabe hurried home and made a home for the kitty in our garage, and then began washing everything George had touched. That night, Jordan spent the night in his swing again. The next morning I put George up for sale on KSL, and then got ready for Jordan's doctor's appointment. While I was getting ready I recieved two calls about George, the first needed to think, and the second one said she'd take her! She had been looking for a kitty with the same black and white stripes everywhere! She wanted to give her to her daughter for easter. I thought that sounded perfect. So, George would have a good home. We made the deal. She would come and get her after my doctor's appointment.

So Jordan and I got in the car and headed to the appointment. I recieved two more calls about the kitty, but decided not to answer. We got to the doctor's office and Jordan was measured and weighed. He is now in the 20th percentile for his height, and the 25th percentile for his weight. That has gone down. But the funny thing is, his head is still in the 90th percentile. So he has a small body and a big head. But like I said, kid's got to have a place to put his big brain!

Anyway, I discussed with the doctor what I thought was Jordan's allergy... but shock of all shocks... the doctor said it wasn't likely that he was allergic! It was his opinion that Jordan just had a cold! He said it was very rare for someone his age to exhibit allergy in a runny nose and puffy eyes.

So there it was! I still had the kitty, but she was already promised to another family. How could I let the little girl down who would be getting a brand new kitty for easter? The deal had already been made, so when I got home, I called the lady, and she and her daughter came and got the kitty. As a side note, the lady was from Payson, and it turned out she knew Gabe. She went to school with him. So we know George went to a good home.

So, are we disappointed? A little at first. But I am mostly relieved. After having the kitty for a few days, I realized it was pretty much like taking care of two babies. It's quite different when you are the mom, and the number one caretaker of both. I am glad I had the chance to realize that, and get wanting a kitty out of my system for a while. The good news is, Jordan is not really allergic, so when he's a bit older, we may try again.

So that is that. A happy ending to this riveting tale.

Kitty fiasco!

So on monday of this week, we finally found ourselves a baby kitty. We had to drive all the way to west Jordan to get it too. It was a very tiny little thing, just 5 1/2 weeks old. It had the signature spiky little fur, blue-grey eyes, and black and white stripes. It was adorable. As we were driving home, Jordan started getting pretty fussy, and so too did the kitty in turn. It was a little stressful, especially considering we still had to stop at walmart and get some kitty supplies before we could go home!

But the little kitty, who we decided to name George warmed up to us almost instantly when we did get home. It spent its first night in a box, and was very good at sleeping through the night. There was only one glitch, and that was that we had to feed it with a siringe. But we were able to teach it to lap up its kitty formula in a small amount of time. It turned out to be potty trained, and has not made a single mess in our house.

The next day it had made our house its home. It followed me around the house wanting to play, and even showed concern for Jordan when he would start to fuss. It rubbed its little head against Jordan's cheek and made friends. Jordan enjoyed watching it wander around the living room. Everything seemed great...

That was until night came... dun dun dun....

Our poor little baby woke up caughing, and had a pretty severe runny nose. He woke up several times during the night, causing me and him to lose a lot of sleep. The next night, same thing. This time I was only able to get him to sleep when I placed him in his swing. When he fell asleep I was too afraid to move him, so I made a bed next to the swing and spent the night next to him. I had to make sure he was breathing after all!

The next day, yesterday, Gabe and I had a big decision to make. Kitty, or Jordan. One of them had to go. Which one would we pick? Well you can find out next week on Kitty Fiasco...

Our sweet baby!

Where oh where have the kitties gone?

Gabe and I have been wanting to get a little kitty for a few months now, but we came to find out that there is a certain season for kittens. Who knew, right? I thought there were always people trying to get rid of kittens. I used to see signs everywhere... but when you are looking for one, that is when they all just disappear! That's life I guess. Anyway, apparently the season for kittens is spring, so I guess we don't have long to wait. Although, I called the pet stores and they still are not sure when they will get some in.

Anyway, what we are looking for is a kitten, about 6-8 weeks old. We'd like it to be free, but we are willing to pay a reasonable amount for one. We want it to be one that likes people and is very friendly. So those of you within our vicinity, please keep your eye out for us! I've been checking the KSL listings every day, but the ones that pop up are usually a pretty far drive from us.

10 things I hate about the dreaded Influenza...

10. The lingering cough and runny/stuffy nose that lasts like a week or two after you start feeling better.
9. Having to stay home all week long.
8. To go to the doctor, or not to go to the doctor, that is the question.
7. Achiness, chills, fever
6. Cough/cold/ flu medicines that claim to help, but don’t!
5. Not enough energy to cook a good meal.
4. Baby who is also sick. :(
3. Staying in pajamas and no make up for a week.
2. Never enough sleep.
1. And the number one thing I hate most about influenza...

Drum roll please...

A week’s worth of household chores to do when you
are finally feeling better!

Jordan's 1st Valentine's Date!

It all began at 5:15 sharp. There he sat, freshly bathed and smelling sweet, dressed in his sunday best and carrying a single rose. Tied around the rose was a ribbin with a caption which read: "Will you be my Valentine?"

Thus he sat, in the living room of his grandparent's house awaiting the arrival of his first ever date, Aunt Pam. Would she come? Or would his first date also become his first ever dissapointing stand up? Only time would tell.

The minutes ticked by: 5:16, 5:17, and on to 5:25... and then the sound of a car door shutting could be heard outside. Was it she?
Jordan postitioned himself in front of the door where he was certain she could not miss him. With the rose clasped tightly in his little hands, he waited.
A moment later the door swung open to reveal just the person he had been waiting for! Jordan put his cutest, most imploring look on his face as her eyes fell on him.
"Of course I'll be your Valentine!" Aunt Pam said, as she accepted the rose. And then lifted him into the air.
Jordan grinned with relief. She had accepted his offering. This was going to be the best Valentine's Date ever!

My Funny Valentines

I am devoting this post to my two Valentines! First and foremost is of course, my wonderful husband, Gabe.

I love his sense of humor. I love that he is such a big kid. I love his smile and the way he can make me laugh. I love that he is hard working and takes such good care of his little family. I love his goofy side. I love that he has a strong testimony of the gospel. I love the way he plays with Jordan. I love the way he always put's me and our family first. I love his talent in music. I love that he wrote songs just for me. I love that he supports me in my writing. I love the way he can cheer me up. I love you Gabe!

I love Jordan! I love his smile. I love his long eyelashes. I love
his stubby little legs. I love how soft his skin is. I love his blue eyes. I love how sweet he looks when he is sleeping. I love that he sometimes snores. I love the way he laughs. I love that he squirms and sqeals when I tickle him. I love when he wakes up in the morning happily talking to himself. I love that I can dress him in cute, goofy outfits.
HAPPY VALENTINES DAY to my two FUNNY VALENTINES!
