Hello everyone... yes I know it has really been quite a while since I updated. I just kept thinking that if I update, I need to include pictures... and I just didn't feel like uploading any... so anyway, I finally decided to post. Picture, or not. This is just an update so you all know the good news!
No, I am not pregnant. So let's get that out of the way right now.
But, I found out a week or so ago that I DO NOT have Lupus!!! Yay! That was such a relief.
For those of you who didn't even know this was a concern, allow me to explain. Around Christmas time I went to the doctor to find out the cause of a pain I was having in my wrist. Well, the doctor performed a series of tests, and the results were that I have carpo tunnel syndrome, but mostly in my left wrist, and it was my right wrist that was really bothering me. I thought that was odd, because I had just assumed the cause to be carpo tunnel. But it turns out the pain was caused by a lesion in my neck (I have MS). So the lesion was putting pressure on a nerve and I was feeling the pain all the way down in my wrist. So that solved that problem. But, one of the blood tests said I had an elevated something or other...(I can't remember what it was called, sorry!) and the doctor basically told me right then and there that I have Lupus.
At the time I didn't think to ask too many questions, because he told me I'd be seeing a reumatologist, so I figured I'd ask most of the questions then. Well, it turned out that I could not see a doctor until MARCH, and this was back in December when I found out. This was a very frustrating time. I already have MS. which is also an auto immune disease, I did not want to deal with another pretty major disease.
I think I'll stop with the details now, and say that after a month or so my brother-in-law, Zach happened to mention he was seeing a reumatologist who was new to the area. So, I got the name and number, and got in within a week. And I am now 100 percent certain I do not have lupus! It is such a relief to know. Thanks so much to everyone who gave me doctors names and such. It's nice to know I have the support of family!

Hooray for not having Lupus!
A very GOOD news minute! That is so good to find out. The waiting must have been the worst. Hope all else is well with you and your cute family!
Good news! I know how frustrating it can be to have to wait months to get in to see a specialist. I've been wanting to get tested for some other autoimmune disorders because I read that if you have one you are more likely to have another. (I know, great news, eh?) I've learned that sometimes you have to fire doctors though and you should always get more than one opinion and be informed yourself. Hope everything else is going well besides the wrist pain!
YAY!! That is a huge relief to know you DON'T have Lupus!! I am so happy for you! That was not cool at all for that doctor to tell you then and there that you had lupus. He should have had more tests before saying you could possibly have that major disease. How careless of him. Here everyone has been worried so much for you. Well what a relief that you don't have it. Such good news!
